The Saddleback women's tennis team won its third straight match on Tuesday with a 7-2 victory over Cypress College at the Saddleback Courts.  The Gauchos closed out the Chargers before heading to doubles matches.

Saddleback made a statement at the top of the lineup when Jacklyn Melkonian streaked past Andrea Velasco for a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles.  Melkonian then teamed with Joanna Colin for a 9-8 win at No. 1 doubles as the top four Gauchos in the lineup all won two matches on the day.

Dominique Willette also had a big day, winning 6-0, 6-2 over Tiana Cung at No. 2 singles before teaming with Kristina Parks for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles. 

Saddleback is now 7-3 overall and 3-1 in Orange Empire Conference play with a rugged conference schedule upcoming.  The Gauchos are now tied for first place in Orange Empire Conference play after Irvine Valley was defeated by Riverside, 5-4, on Tuesday.  The Gauchos and Lasers will meet on Thursday at the Saddleback Courts with a piece of first place riding on the line.  Match time for Saddleback and IVC is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
