The Saddleback women's soccer team is gearing up for the 2018 season but had three players move on to four-year schools during the off-season. DZ-Rae Jara, Jessica Kron and Wendy Dina have all made commitments to other schools this fall.
Jara had a sensational two-year career for Saddleback, making the All-Orange Empire Conference Team both seasons. Jara was a first team selection this past season after posting nine shutouts for the Gauchos. She led Saddleback to a 22-10-10 overall record over the past two seasons. Jara will play at Black Hills State University, located in Spearfish, South Dakota. The Yellow Jackets play an NCAA Division II schedule within the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Kron was a pillar of consistency on defense for the Gauchos for two straight seasons. She was a part of a Saddleback defense that recorded 18 shutouts over the past two seasons while going 22-10-10. As a result, Kron was named to the All-Orange Empire Conference Team for a second straight season. She will play at Upper Iowa University, located in Fayette, Iowa. The Peacocks play an NCAA Division II schedule within the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Dina played in both 2015 and 2017 for Saddleback, scoring one goal in 18 games for the Gauchos. She will continue her collegiate career at Missouri Valley College, located in Marshall, Missouri. The Vikings play under the NAIA umbrella within the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
Saddleback opens the 2018 season on the road at Mt. San Jacinto College on August 28.
