The Saddleback softball team had three players named to the All-Orange Empire Conference Team this week after finishing the regular season 21-17 overall and 11-10 in OEC play. Nelsa Delagente led the team in votes.
Delagente was selected to the first team as a pitcher after posting an 18-17 overall record with a 3.27 ERA. In addition, Delagente hit .305 for the year, finishing third in both home runs (3) and RBI's (21) and fourth in doubles (9). She started 36 of the 38 games this season on the mound with 17 complete games. Delagente's two best performances of the year were complete game, two-hitters against both College of the Desert on February 10 and Santa Barbara on March 26.
Wilkerson came over from the women's basketball team and quickly infused the offense, leading the team with five home runs for the year. She was second in both RBI (27) and stolen bases (5) while committing just two errors in the field all season.
Moore tied for third on the team with a .364 batting average while leading the team in triples (3) and finishing second in extra-base hits (14). Moore started all 38 games at shortstop, leading the team with 65 total bases.
Saddleback will learn its playoff fate today when the coaches from Southern California convene to determine the playoff seeds.
