Ground coaching tree keeps growing

The Saddleback basketball program has had a ton of great moments in the past nine seasons under head coach Andy Ground, with many of the players and coaches moving on to expanded roles at other colleges and universities.  The Gauchos received more great news on Thursday when it was announced that former assistant Nick Booker was named the Associate Head Coach at Eastern Washington University.

Booker was an assistant for Ground from 2008-2010 and was the interim co-head coach at Saddleback in 2007-08 when Ground spent a season at Irvine Valley College.  During his tenure at Saddleback, Booker was part of a Ground staff that finished runner-up in the state in 2009 and won the state title in 2010.

Booker left Saddleback to become an assistant coach at UC Irvine from 2011-2016 and spent last season as the Director of Basketball Operations at Davidson College.

Booker joins former assistant Perry Webster in the coaching ranks.  Webster played at Saddleback on the 2010 state title team and is the current head coach at rival Fullerton College.
