The Saddleback football season ended on a high note, winning the Patriotic Bowl and finishing with a 7-4 overall record. The Gauchos were rewarded with 15 different players making the All-National Southern League Team.
Saddleback's football season started slowly but finished red hot, winning five of the last seven games and capturing a Patriotic Bowl victory over Bakersfield College in the final seconds. The Gauchos had seven players make the All-National Southern League First Team and another eight make the All-National Southern League Second Team.
The first team selections were Zachary Huff (OC), Tim Anderson (OT), Austin Derrico (WR), Robbie Patterson (QB), Jerome Johnson (Utility), Corey Sinceno (CB) and Rome Innocenzi (PR) while the second team selections included Brandon Smith (OL), Sefo Mailangi (TE), Yasir Berry (WR), Matthew Freem (K), Leo Tamba (DE), Colton Larceval (S), Segun Olubi (S) and Harrison Avila (P).
Saddleback finished 7-4 overall and 4-1 in National Division Southern League play in 2018. The Gauchos finished the season ranked No. 22 in the state in points scored, scoring 30-or-more points in seven games. The Gaucho defense ranked No. 27 in the state in points allowed, giving up 21-or-less points in five games.
