Former baseball player Luke Jarvis was recognized with this week as making the California Community College Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for the 2015-16 calendar year.  Jarvis played on the 2014 and 2016 teams before transferring to Auburn University on a baseball scholarship.

Jarvis was one of just 20 athletes chosen out of over 26,000 athletes in the state system.  He carried a 3.94 GPA in his two years at Saddleback, earning him the Saddleback Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year Award.  In addition, Jarvis earned an Associates of Science degree in business administration. 

Jarvis was also stellar on the field, batting .371 as a sophomore and leading the team with 62 hits, 17 doubles, five triples, 12 stolen bases and 40 runs-scored, helping the Gauchos capture their first Orange Empire Conference title in 18 years.

Jarvis is currently competing for the starting position at shortstop for Auburn.
