Jerry was hired by Saddleback in August of 1991 as the
college’s full-time Sports Information Director. Originally
working out of the Office of Marketing and Development, he was
responsible for all of the publicity for the athletic programs.
Those duties have expanded over the years and he was promoted to
Assistant Athletic Director in May of 2005. Although he is still
responsible for all of the publicity, statistics, and historical
information for the athletic programs, he also handles eligibility
and compliance, scholarship, game management, and assists with
fundraising and special projects.
Jerry earned a bachelor’s degree in Sports Information from USC in 1987 and added a master’s degree in Kinesiology/Sports Management from Long Beach State in 2003. He has been working in community college athletics since 1987 with previous positions at El Camino and Cuesta colleges. He has served as the president of the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA), has received several awards for excellence in writing from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and serves on several committees of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).
